Procurement Transformation and Professionalisation
Situation
Procurement has historically operated primarily as a transactional or decentralised function. Management wants to create a more structured and commercially focused Procurement organisation with stronger category management, supplier governance and visibility of spend.
Assignment
An Interim Procurement Transformation Leader is appointed to assess the existing organisation and establish a practical transformation programme.
The assignment may include clarifying roles and responsibilities, developing category structures, improving sourcing processes, creating supplier segmentation and strengthening performance management within Procurement.
Typical impact
Management receives a clearer view of Procurement performance and priorities, while the organisation gains stronger processes, governance and capabilities that can be transferred to the permanent leadership team.
